what is "conversion software" in this forum context?

rules say "conversion software" ? "what is that" in the context of what is forbidden? you mean open source codecs?? or are you referring to decrypt-ers that bypass or breaks DRM?

Reason I ask is there are conversion software that changes one format to another, which is perfectly legal.

If we are talking "decrypt" or breaks DRM, then say that to clarify what you mean when you say conversion software.

Any conversion or rip tool not being open source software.

Legality of the tools only depends on countries.
