file writing when recording live stream with VLC

Postby blover200 » 01 Jun 2019 16:32

Dear all,

I've tried to use VLC to play a network stream and then press the record button.

But I've found that during recording, the file size kept zero (from task manager, the disk activity seems very very low, too). After a long time recording and the stream stopped, I pressed the stop button, then the hard disk starts to write and "highly activated" (it takes some time to write the file, especially the final file size is in GB).

I often find that the sound of the product file is only normal at the beginning part and often lost the sound after some time.

So my questions are here:
1. is there any setting to let the recording real time write the file? so it won't take a long time to dump/transcode only when I have pressed the stop button.
2. is the sound problem about any setting I have missed ?

Thank you.

Windows 10 most updated and VLC 3.0.6
btw, I was recording 2 to 3 streams at the same time, not sure if this may cause problems ?
