No Audio on next track when screen sleeps

I just updated to iOS 12.1.4 (iPhone 6s) and now my VLC 3.1.5 will not play audio for the next track if the screen sleeps.

I press the home button to wake the screen and I see the VLC monitor showing it is playing (no audio yet) and after about a second or two the audio will start playing again (not from the beginning of the track but from where the player says it is playing silently).

If I keep using the phone and don't let it sleep the player will move from track to track playing fine. I used this yesterday fine, pre 12.1.4 update.

hi there, I have the same issue, (6s & SE, both IOS 12.1.4) when playing Sony ATRAC files, but seems not happen when playing mp3 files. Appreciate any idea to solve this.

I have this happen with any audio file. There has been two VLC updates since I reported both did not address or fix this issue. I just tested on a folder of MP3 files. As long as I keep the phone awake an in use it works on playing the next track, but if it sleep the next track plays muted till I wake the screen, I don't even have to unlock the screen light up the lock screen with the VLC console showing it is playing then the audio will come back after that. I have switch to SPlayer for now till this is fixed
