Well.... Mojave 10.14 just looks like it now updated Safari to completely kill the VLC Plug-In for the browser.
Has anyone figured out how to make it work?

It's gone forever and will never come back, sorry. Additionally, there are no other web browsers anymore supporting web plugins.
Note that this also affects Safari v12 on previous releases of macOS.
