ffmpeg problem in Fed4 - segmentation fault

Postby clive1246 » 01 Dec 2005 11:27

I have a segmentation fault problem

I am told it is caused by ffmpeg

Here is the backtrace of the problem

(gdb) backtrace
#0 0x05919966 in avcodec_decode_video () from /usr/lib/libavcodec.so
#1 0x0810ca95 in __gnu_cxx::__common_pool_policy<__gnu_cxx::__pool, true>::_S_initialize_once ()
#2 0x080a6132 in ?? ()
#3 0x080a63cd in ?? ()
#4 0x00cddb80 in start_thread () from /lib/libpthread.so.0
#5 0x00c359ce in clone () from /lib/libc.so.6

Can somebody tell me how to sort this problem out :roll:

Any help would be much appreciated as I have been trying for months to get this working :oops:

As you said it's look like it's in ffmpeg.

So you should try to compile the latest ffmpeg with debug symbol , recompile vlc ( with debug while you're at it) and send the complete backtrace to ffmpeg.
