How to connect to Local Network

Postby Laiderdaiv » 31 Jul 2018 18:42

The documentation is useless. It just says "
Introduced in VLC for iOS 2.1, Local Network discovers and lists servers found on your local network. At present, this includes UPnP media servers and FTP servers announced via Bonjour / Rendezvous. Further options will be made available in future releases. Depending on the server capability, you can both stream and/or download the stored contents."
Okay fine, lol.. But how do I use it? I'm still clueless and the documentation didn't help at all..

When I click Connect to Server in the app it asks all this server and port stuff. I don't know what ANY OF THIS STUFF IS is and the app doesn't tell me anything. It's just there.
im following the steps in https://youtu.be/aNwEj3InaTA to make an FTP thing. now it just says unable to connect. I don't understand technology at all. Wasted morning.

friend you must go to
control panel, center of networks and shared resources, on the left side where it says to change configuration of advanced shared use, then where it says all the networks, and there where it says transmission by sequences of multimedia, there of the click where it says elergir transmission options (this highlighted in blue), there you give in showing network devices, from there select the option of all networks, and there to connect to it wifi of your house, the iphone will appear as an unknown device, there you give in the options and you allow it, and that will let you see the universal plug & play server in the local network list of the iphone vlc.

sorry for my English
