My Linux is Debian Sarge and I'm running VLC 0.8.3 (because 0.8.4 won't install as a Binary and won't compile).
I notice that when playing an AVI file VLC plays the stream but spawns a new process every couple seconds to do so!
After playing 1 stream my process count is now at 24656 - without VLC its around 9500.
I don't suppose anyone has an idea of what's going on ...? Advice would be appreciated.
