VLC jumps backwards when push NEXT CHAPTER/TITLE BUTTON

Postby DaGoofyFawker » 22 Jun 2018 17:08

Ok. I have combed the forums and can't seem to find this problem. And I have tried various forms of keywords to try and avoid rehashing an old issue.

So, the issue I am having, and it's more of a PITA than an issue, is that every now and then when I push the "Next Chapter/Title" Button it jumps back to the previous mark and it does this any time I hit the "Next Chapter" button regardless of which mark in the video I want to jump to (ie. Past the Open Creds, Halfway Point, etc...). Typically I use it to jump past Opening Credits but have to hit the button twice to have it actually jump forward. Also, once it starts doing it, it does it for every subsequent video in the folder. I have to stop the video, clear the playlist, and then add the folder back in for it to stop doing it. If anyone has come across this problem, and know whats causing it or how to fix it, I would love to know. Again, it's more of an irritant than a problem, but still, it gets in the way of my quality Cartoon Time!!! Thanks!!

Crap... Forgot to mention I am running Windows 7 (Cuz aside from XP it's the bestest one, IMHO), and VLC is at Ver. 3.0.3. And I typically drop whole folders for one particular show onto the playlist to watch instead of individual videos. I can't think of any other pertinent information to provide. If any more is needed just let me know. Thanks, again!

Actually, yes. I just checked the last videos that I remember it doing it on, and they are MKV's. Is it just that particular format that does it? Now that you have asked, I never really thought to look at which file types it was or wasn't occurring on. I can't think of the one prior, so can't confirm for sure, but you seem to know a bit more than I already. Any help or suggestions, or just sorta deal with it when it happens kinda thing? Thanks in advance. And I just saw that you're a site admin, so it only makes sense you would know quite a bit more. :-) And, apparently, my observation skills are not anywhere near what I thought them to be.
