Files converted from MTS to MP4 have no sound in Movie Maker

Hi guys,

I have transferred this question from another thread (https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=144006) since the problem could not be solved there.

I converted (and saved to MP4 container only) an MTS video file (from camcorder) to MP4 format. After problems with artefacts when using VLC version 2, I used version 3.0.2 and I could save the video to mp4 container resulting in an MP4 file without artefacts and interferences.

However, the file does not work in Movie Maker as it does not have any sound. I tried many different adjustments, but nothing worked, always no sound. It does not seem to be manageable to solve the problem, but I dont think that it is uncommon. There must be a solution. Maybe just an adjustment that I overlooked so far. Does anyone have an idea? Please explain in lay terms.

Thanks, but it is not helpful since no solution is provided to the problem there, and it cannot be seen whether it has been submitted as a bug report, and whether VLC has picked up the rfeport (should it be a bug).

Does anyone has more information?
