Actually i cannot play neither Video nor Sounds with VLC :/
here is my version : videolan-client-0.8.1-3.0.rh9.rf
when i start it from a terminal i have :
[root@Nutella bin]# vlc
VLC media player 0.8.1 Janus
When i Start mp3 file i have :
[00000252] mpeg_audio packetizer: MPGA channels:2 samplerate:44100 bitrate:128
but no soud ... it works really god with xmms
For video :
when i start a VCD u have :
title[0] start=1258
title[0] end=228858
but no Video nor Sounds :s
and finally when i start an AVI file VLC detects the lenght of the video but nothing came :/
