TVOs 11.2.5 tiny subtitle issue on ATV4

After updating to TVOs 11.2.5 on ATV4 my subtitles are super tiny and unreadable. Also after selecting the Largest size and other fonts this still is an issue. It seems to be related to the update of TVOs 11.2.5. Before this I did not have any issues. Reinstalling VLC does not solve this issue. How can I fix this?

I hop along with your question.
As of today i do not have any subtitles diplaying anymore.
Nothing at all works. no subtitles!


Got everything reinstalled, resetted the ATV4 totally new. Complete wipe and reintalled everyting.
Have all setting of subtitles and caption to ON, both in vlc player and the apple tv settings.
Nothing works.
Not even opensubtitle download and srt's in the same folder as 'track 1'



Hope they fix this issue.

When I started my Apple Tv, I could see it updated and first thought the subtitles were completely gone, tried everything to get them back, but realized they display very very very small, seems like a small line.

I temporarily switched to the ELMedia player and here it works perfectly, so it seems like a VLC issue. Would be great if I can return to VLC...

Same, the subtitles have disappeared with the latest update, or rather they are so tiny it took me 10 minutes to notice them (1 or 2 pixel lines on my 55 inch TV).

I have exactly the same issue. I'm using Plex now and everything works fine over there.
I hope that they fix this problem real soon because I prefer VLC

What is your subtitle format? Is it SSA or bitmap or just plain SRT?

I've got a similar issue. Apple TV 4k, tvOS 11.2.5. I am unable to change subtitles from their default settings. Even though the settings in the menu change, the only thing I get during playback is white Helvetica Neue in normal size (which is actually quite large). I can set it to yellow Courier in smallest size, but I still get the default font/color/size during playback. This is with either embedded SRT subtitles in an MKV or SRT subtitles from a separate file.

jus srt, and embebed subtitels in mkv file

The issue has been solved on iOS so I thing that sohuld be the same with tvOS
