Fast Forward/backward freezes video briefly

Postby Joejim » 22 Jan 2018 09:31

I am using VLC v2.2.1
When I fast forward or backward(10seconds) a video using key stroke Alt-right/left arrow, video pauses split second then plays again. So I have to wait a bit before I fast forward/backward again. What I wanted was video to stay up with my fast forward/backward key strokes.

Another words, let's say I wanna fast forward 30 seconds, then I should be able to click Alt-right arrow three times (click, click, click) without waiting for video to catch up between each 10 second key stroke. Now I have to press Alt-right arrow then wait split second for video to catch up then press Alt-right arrow again.
I thought split second video pause was normal, but I used other players where I can just press key strokes continuously to advance 10 seconds or 30 seconds without video pause.

Is there any settings in Preference that I can set to eliminate this video pause?
P.S. I hope I described my issue clearly.

Can you try VLC 3.0 Release Candidate ? It seems to be working fine for me.
