Subtitle by default problem

Postby staze » 08 Jan 2018 23:16

Hi All,

I'm trying to configure VLC to play subtitles by default on an mpeg2 atsc stream. The closed captions are there, and if I manually select them in the menu, they work, but even when I tweak the subtitle track id, and subtitle track (and then check the menu and it shows the proper one selected), they don't show. But if I re-select the track in the menu, they start showing up.

I've tried various combinations of Track ID and Track, and language (which shouldn't matter since they're called "Closed caption 1" through "Closed caption 4") but nothing.

Help! This is on Mac and PC, running both 2.0.2 (in windows) and 2.2.8 on Mac. I'm sure I'm missing something that isn't being set in the preferences for defaults that gets turned on when I manually select the subtitle via the menu, but I can't figure out what it is.

Thanks!
