DVD Plays Sound, NO Video (just black screen)

Postby Guest » 16 Nov 2005 05:10

I am running FC4, VLC 0.8.2 After solving about 20 dependencies, I was able to install vlc from rpm. VLC loads just fine and starts the DVD, but I get no picture, just sound. Nothing appears on the screen at all. When I call VLC from a command line, here is the output:

Code: Select all

[root@server ~]# vlc VLC media player 0.8.2 Janus [00000274] a52 decoder: A/52 channels:6 samplerate:48000 bitrate:448000 ALSA lib conf.c:1578:(snd_config_load1) _toplevel_:51:23:No such file or directory ALSA lib conf.c:2823:(snd_config_hook_load) /etc/alsa/cards/aliases.conf may be old or corrupted: consider to remove or fix it ALSA lib conf.c:2686:(snd_config_hooks_call) function snd_config_hook_load returned error: No such file or directory ALSA lib pcm.c:1959:(snd_pcm_open_conf) Invalid type for PCM default definition (id: default, value: cards.pcm.default) ALSA lib pcm.c:1959:(snd_pcm_open_conf) Invalid type for PCM iec958:AES0=0x2,AES1=0x82,AES2=0x0,AES3=0x2 definition (id: iec958, value: cards.pcm.iec958) No accelerated IMDCT transform found
Any ideas what has gone wrong, or how to fix it?
