VLC for AppleTV crashes on open

I've had no problems with VLC on my AppleTV in the past, but as of today the app crashes almost instantly when I open it. I click on the icon, the app opens on the Local Network tab and displays my two shared drives (connected via Time Capsule). Before I have time to click anything else, the app closes and goes back to the home screen.

One thing that sort of works is if I turn off my wifi (which is an Apple Time Capsule), and open VLC, the app will stay open (with "No servers found" displaying on the Local Network tab) until I turn the Time Capsule back on, at which point the two drives show up briefly, and then the app crashes.

I've tried reinstalling VLC, rebooting the Apple TV, and even went so far as to do a factory reset on the Apple TV, but no luck.

Any help would be very much appreciated!
