Playback failure on DVD

Hi guys,

I recently bought some DVDs back from overseas and when I tried to start it up with VLC player, I get the following error:

Playback failure:
VLC cannot set the DVD's title. It possibly cannot decrypt the entire disc.
Your input can't be opened:
VLC is unable to open the MRL 'dvd:///E:\'. Check the log for details.

There have been mentions of this error but the threads are outdated, from a year or more ago. I have tried updating the player to the newest version and also rolling it back to 32bit versions (2.1.2), but still the same error persists. I also tried opening the VIDEO_TS directory file on the disk and running the .ifo, all give the same error. Its a region 2 DVD and I have changed the region setting on my DVD drive, if that matters..

Please help! I'm not exactly very tech savvy so maybe simpler direct solutions would be helpful.. Thank you very much!
