Can't open folders

when I try to use VLC on my ipad i can open regular videos. But, folders refuse to open. I used to like the fact that my VLC would group videos together in a folder by default, now I can't open the folders. If I try it just goes back to start page of were the ungrouped videos are. I can no longer edit and delete videos either. The videos instead of doing their usual slow shake when i want to click to delete some shake really fast. I tried reinstalling and I still get same errors. Hoping to find an easy fix with this.
