Protocol used by VLC and others (MPRIS) needs it's Wikipedia page back

I noticed that this page was deleted, unfairly, years ago:

Situation must have changed so that everyone sees the relevance and notability of MPRIS.

Whatever is or should be on the wikipedia page should be in some documentation downloadable with VLC.

I have only very vague understanding about what MPRIS is. Logical first step would be to read it's wikipedia page, but...

I want to include some MPRIS functionality with my c++ Qt software.
