Apple TV - enter a IP from a samba in a external network

Hi,

I use the VLC App on the Apple TV and it works great for the local network.
It found my server in the local network and I connect via SMB.

Is it additionally possible to enter a IP address from a server?
The goal-server is not in my local network, so I want to enter the IP address, but I don't find a configuration point for that.
