Problems with playing stereo

Postby PETER STROMBERG » 04 Feb 2017 17:48

Dear All,
I am new to VLC. When I attach a stereo sound system to my Windows 10 based laptop and play a DVD the sound comes out of the subwoofer and one of the other speakers only. When I change to reverse stereo sound comes out of the other speaker but now not the original one. The problem still exists when I change to a different stereo system. I am uncertain whither this is a Windows 10 or a VLC problem. Any ideas.

Peter,
Did you ever solve this problem? I have experienced precisely the same thing. For me, it did not matter whether the source was a file (e.g., mp3) or an audio CD. The fact that by reversing the stereo in VLC and having "normal" sound out of the opposite speaker indicates that this is neither hardware (e.g., CD ROM drive, sound card) nor software problem. When I switch to an alternate media player (e.g., Media Monkey), I do not experience this problem. Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling VLC media player (same version) with some improvement but not entirely.
