no forced subtitles

Postby brendanxx » 12 Oct 2016 21:59

Hi,
I have a macbook on el Capitan and VLC 2.2.4 - I've been trying to find how to put subtitles at the bottom of the screen - there is no tools menu anymore and in preferences (subtitles) there is no forced subtitle box. Can't you change subtitle position anymore in 2.2.4?
Many thanks
Brendan

Well, there never was a tools menu on macOS version of VLC. :-)

Anyway, I think in advanced prefs you can set a preferred subtitle location. There should have been no change here in 2.2.4.
Note that this might not apply to all subtitles - some formats specify for themselves where the text shall be shown.
