VLC nox web interface on a headless server

Postby adriankoooo » 03 Sep 2016 17:25

Hi,

I have working setup on my Mac to transcode settopbox channels into Blackbox app (it's a streaming app for Enigma settopboxes).

Here is the guide from manual for Mac:
  • Download and install the latest version of VLC
    Start VLC
Select on the top menu VLC > Preferences
    Press the Show All button
Select on the left menu Interface > Main Interfaces
    Check the Web checkbox
Select on the left menu Interface > Main Interfaces > Lua
Enter a secure password in Lua HTTP > Password
Press Save and close VLC completely (CMD+Q)
Start VLC again. Now the web interface should be accessible for Blackbox
Always make sure that VLC is started and your computer is available when transcoding is enabled on Blackbox.

Is there any way to make this work on a headless Ubuntu server with VLC nox version?

You can edit ~/.config/vlc/vlcrc by hand.
