I've been using VLC for years and it's always had this problem. Every update, I think it might be fixed now, but still hasn't been. Here's the situation: I play a song. While it's playing, the file for that song is locked as well as the folder containing the file - I can't delete the file or the folder - that's fine with me - makes sense - I'm a legend computer programmer - I get it. After the song stops playing, the file is unlocked and I can delete the file. BUT ... the folder is still locked and I can't delete the folder without closing VLC. I haven't done PC programming so I'm not sure what's keeping the folder locked after the last locked file in the folder is unlocked, but since VLC releases the folder upon closing, I'm assuming it is its job to unlock the folder when the last locked file is unlocked. Is there a reason this can't be changed/fixed so that VLC doesn't have to be closed in order to delete a folder it played a song from 30 minutes ago? Thanks. VLC 2.2.4, Windows 7 HP SP1 (and it will never be Windows 10)
