Playing videos does not stay inside playlist selection

Whenever I create a playlist of certain videos on my computer and play them, as soon as it reaches the end of my playlist, VLC will begin to play the next video in my file directory. I want to be able to create a playlist so that it only plays the videos within my playlist, but it won't do it. I've put the playlist on loop all and loop none, no effect. How can you make VLC only play the videos specifically listed in your playlist?
