Grey screen on buffering

Postby rfugger » 18 Jun 2016 00:32

I use the latest version on Ubuntu. Lately it's been bugging me that when vlc has to wait for video data, either from the network or from a busy local drive, on some codecs at least, the screen will turn grey and then blur as new video data arrives, until the next key frame arrives to restore it to normal. Proper behaviour would be to just pause the display as is until more video data arrives.

Is this a known, filed bug, and/or is there a workaround? Thanks!
