SMB error in MacOSX 10.11.5

After updating MacOSX 10.11.5 (El Capitan), I can not get the file list at the beginning of SMB connection. I have also MacOS-X 10.11.4 and it's SMB connection seems to good. I think new Apple's security update might have change in SMB protocol and may not work good in VLC for iOS 277.2. I like VLC for iOS therefore I am looking forward to see new version...

I also have the same problem. SMB connection not working between iOS and OS X.

Just to update this post. These SMB issues are not entirely attributable to VLC.

I recently performed the following;
1) Upgraded from OS X 10.11.4 to OS X 10.11.5
2) Upgraded from Windows 7 x64 to Windows10 Pro x64 Version 1511, OS Build 10586.318.
3) Clean install of Windows10 Pro x64 Version 1511, OS Build 10586.318.

The upgraded Windows10 machine and clean install Windows10 machine are both exhibiting different SMB issues.

Both OS X and Windows10 have issues/bugs with SMB, which are causing varying interoperability issues.

This is a widespread issue that both Apple and Microsoft aware of, check their respective forms for more details. Also check the Synology forum.
