usb camera streaming over vls

I have a usb webcam streaming data over VLC on my network but am unhappy with the delay.

I read somewhere that vls has a significantly reduced delay! is this the case??

I have been trying to set up a VLS stream but the examples only show a dvd stream, mpeg encoding card, dvb card and video4linux.

How would i setup the config file for my trust 320 spacec@m
