Play DVD from optical USB drive directly on Android?

Postby martinpauly » 20 Mar 2016 00:12

Hi,
I currently use VLC to play all sorts of videos on a Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 (with built-in projector) -- absolutely great.
I can e.g. easily pull .ts files off my Dreambox (sat receiver) and set up a "kid's cinema" in no time.
I *would* like to watch my DVDs with the Yoga, I bought them all legally!
Know I could try to rip them, but it's a hassle.
I think this is technically challenging as OS support for this does not seem to be very good -- so a little donation
is on the way :-)

TIA, Martin

The general idea is that if you can access it via the filesystem, then yes; otherwise, probably not.
