Is there any setting to make VLC continue playing after fault/corrupted part of video?

Postby vlc_viewer » 18 Mar 2016 14:41

Sometime I have a video file that must be slightly corrupted because there is a blip and a frame or two missing, but when this happens vlc stops playing and I have to spend a while trying to click on the the timeline just after the fault otherwise it will close the file again.

Is there any way to tell VLC to continue playing after corrupted frames instead of closing the video?

No. VLC tries the best it can by default, which depends on the file format. If it does not work, you are out of luck.
