What's the status of the x64 build?

For some reason the information seems to have vanished from the VLC Windows page so I believe x64 builds of VLC are still in experimental stage.

surely there's a definitive position from the project on this, where is it? If it does not exist then could someone from the project please state it.

If you mean VLC 2.2.2, there was a build, but there were conflicting statements as to whether it actually works.

There definitely is nightly Win64 builds process, just as with Win32.

Yes I am referring to x64 release builds, which you have been making for quite a while (https://download.videolan.org/pub/video ... 0.1/win64/). I haven't experienced any problems with the recent x64 releases (2.2.1, 2.2.2), do you have plans to make them the default?

The question was not where to get the x64 version, but what its status is. This was the response:

This is not what you'd say about a stable release, so evidently its still experimental, although you'd think 4 years is enough time to stabilize.
