video thumbnail turns green

any idea what is causing video's to loose there thumbnail picture ( that helps easily identify the videos ) & just have an all green thumbnail?


Version 2.2.1 Terry Pratchett (Weatherwax) (Intel 64bit) is what i am using.

In the Finder you mean? This is an issue with QuickTime, not VLC, because we don't generate those thumbnail previews. Probably QuickTime can't read your files.

ok thank you for the reply, it is really confusing to me because what i have seen is say the thumbnail had a picture for quite some time (months) then all of a sudden the pic is gone & it is green. so why is it that this only happens to some & not all of them?
