and why correct timestamp for this userand I can't understand why the error
Thanks for responding. It didn't work... or I should say I don't seem to have problems with mp4 files I've compressed. But I have problems with the original .mov video files shot on my Canon SX160is... which I believe are mjpeg. Maybe that's a clue to why it's happening.I think I solved that green line by deselecting "Use hardware YUV->RGB conversion" under Preferences > Video.
Looking back at my folder of captured frames... I had no problems with these errors with Win8.1. They started with Win10.I'm trying to take snapshot from some videos, but when I take them VLC names vlcsnap-error[number] (like, vlcsnap-error114.jpg) instead of using the timestamp; in settings the prefix is vlcsnap- and I can't understand why the error.
I'm running VLC 2.2.1 on Windows 8.1.
Partial success. I uninstalled 2.2.4 64 bit yesterday and installed the 32 bit. It did fix the file naming problem. But it's still adding the green bar to the bottom of some screen shots. Since that's a separate problem... perhaps I should start a new thread on the topic.32-bits vs 64-bits VLC maybe?
