One of the issues that I have been having with VLC . I have noticed that across all platforms (Well all of mine) is that VLC has a bit of a problem whilst loading from a storage medium that is formatted with exFAT... (Only tested with XP and WP at the moment...) and specifically with WP, no music shows in the library whatsoever and I have to use VLC Media Player's file manager to play music...
Previous to this problem, this may seem slightly off topic but before I have modders close this down for "breaking the post rules" this is a problem that is on BOTH versions of Windows... and a possible malfunction with the Linux & Android install too.... (Not tried yet as my GRUB is poorly configured on my main computer and my Moto is in the shop...)
One more thing! There seem to be a problem with missing/corrupted media on both desktop iterations of VLC and a previous build of VLC for WP (Can't remember which one), instead of removing the said song from the media library or missing it in the playlist it attempt to still play it making it unresponsive to the point I have to use Task Manager/System Monitor to force kill the app (which would be alright if it wasn't happening about every hour) or reboot the app in WP's case.
One more thing! There is a problem with the media scanner across the board with it picking up *.mid / *.midi files even though VLC can't play play them (missing codecs possibly?) if that is the case either add the missing codecs or stop letting VLC try to play them or adding them to the playlist/media library.
One more thing! I hope that is post isn't breaking any rules by me posting about multiple problems across a range of different OS's with a mutual problem? Yes, I know I have outlined specific problems with said OS's but I didn't think that it would be good if I was repeating myself on different boards to get the same issue fixed...
One last thing! I hope that modders and the Dev team at VideoLAN can get these issues sorted, I have also outlined the problems for Windows Phone on the Store's rate and review.
