ActiveX playing RTSP stream

Postby chrisb » 04 Oct 2005 23:52

Hi,

I am attempting to play an RTSP stream in IE using the VLC ActiveX streaming from a Kasenna server.

I appear to have the ActiveX installed correctly however I have a problem in that one file I view is streaming without problems and another plays for a few seconds and then appears to stop with a blank black screen. The only difference I can see between the two files that may be causing a problem is that the working one uses VBR and the other uses CBR.

Can anyone offer any suggestions as I can't understand why one file would stream without problems and another cannot?

If I play either file directly through vlc they both play fine.

Thanks

Chris

My apologies but this is also happening when I play the file directly through vlc. In the Messages I am receiving 'PTS is out of range' errors.

This is version 0.8.2 btw.

Thanks

please note that you can get the VLC debug messages for the activex plugin if you enable the logger interface

Yeah, I had read one or two articles on here that don't speak to highly of Kasenna. Unfortunately our customer requires that we use it which is a bit frustrating.
