How do I use the activeX plugin?

Postby Cyan » 21 Sep 2015 20:24

Hi,

When I use Internet Explorer 11 to open a url pointing to a weblink, I like that video to play.
I have used quicktime player in the past, which simply played the file right away inside my browser window.
I suppose VLC should have simulair functionality. I have the ActiveX element installed. However when I browse to any weblink with media files such as .mp4, VLC does nothing. The browser simply displays a little sign showing it is unable to open the file.

How do I use VLC in my webbrowser? (IE 11)
It can't be difficult. Right?

(Yes, the plugin is enabled, and I disabled quicktime player. VLC media player works fine on it's own, when I open files from my pc or when I open web URLS inside VLC, but when I open web URLS in my browser, vlc does not get involved.)
