https stream supported by VLC 2.6.4 on iOS 8.4?
I can't stream a YouTube https url with VLC 2.6.4 on iOS 8.4. Other simple http url's stream fine. Is https support built into VLC for iOS?

YouTube URLs are not supported by VLC for iOS in contrast to VLC for Mac or Windows as the mobile VLC version does not include the necessary lua scripts to parse the YouTube website.

Thanks a lot for the insight! I now know that a possible lack of HTTPS support is not the root cause of my issue. I still wonder if HTTPS is supported at all on iOS...

Yes, it definitely is. We added proper support for it including certificate verification, etc. in version 2.3 in spring 2014 if I remember correctly.
