Track to stop automatically before the end of the album through a .cue playlist

Postby DynV » 11 Aug 2015 17:29

Right off the bat, I'd post this in General VLC media player Troubleshooting but its description seems like I'll likely be berated ; so feel free to move this from Windows. Then I searched for .cue topics in Windows forum and after a few pages of topic (not post) listing, I couldn't find something that would help me but I could have skipped something.

I have a music album I like, but one of its track is much more to my liking. So from the album .cue playlist, I cropped the content of the tracks other than my favorite and it's playing great in VLC 2.1.5. Actually it's starting at the right time and sounds good ; what's missing is I'd like VLC to stop at the end of the track by itself and me not having to keep in mind that I want it to stop after see footnote 1.

There's examples of CUE playlists and none that I've seen seem like it could stop midway in an album. I thought this could have had nothing to do with VLC, so just CUE playlists but I couldn't find a forum for the latter so I'm kinda stuck asking here. :?

Thank you kindly for your help

Footnotes:
  1. as its not a high priority, I'm not doing it very soon after the next track start, I may do it 10-30 secs after ; the biggest issue is that often I'm lost in my higher priority tasks and I realize I could have done them with something more pleasant in the ear ; also I'm hoping the solution could be put in repeat mode but if not I could just make another .cue duplicating multiple times the track content (ie: TRACK-repeat10.cue (repeating it 10 times)).
