Start movie playing automatically ? HELP

Postby Guest » 01 Oct 2005 18:09

Hi, I used to be able to just double click on a movie and VLC would start it playing automatically. I've now uninstalled the previous version and installed 0.8.2 and I've seem to have lost that feature. Clicking on movies now open VLC but the movie doesn't start right away i.e. I have to press play manually.

I couldn't find anything that looked useful in the player options menus. What can I do to fix this ? Thanks.

to help us solve this issue, could you:

1) turn on verbose level 2 in the preferences (save them)
2) open the messages window
3) quit the player
4) double-click on the movie
5) post the content of the message window to the forum

Heh, it's driving me crazy... I'll just revert to 0.8.1 for the time being. Whatever it is, hopefully it'll be fixed in 0.8.3 :P

Problem still appears to be in 0.8.4....

Hi.....

I have just tried 0.8.4 and the problem still seems to be there. In my case I am trying to run VLC in W2K from command line with a udp://@A.B.C.D:1234 MRL supplied as a parameter.

In older versions (v= 0.8.1 I think) when I did this the MRL item automatically opened and started playing.....now I have to click on the play button to get it to work.

I don't suppose there is a workaround?

TIA

Chris.
