Bug in newest version

The newest version which my ipad downloaded today has stopped working. It was fixed by reinstalling but the issue re-occurs after the first closure of the app.

Issue: Cannot get video to open, sound plays and I can see the [<< > >>] part saying the video I am watching when I swipe the bottom menu up. But cannot get video to load.

On first install (fresh) of the app, When I click the done button the video plays in a little menu that pops up at the bottom, I can restore the video from that.
But once the app has been closed, any other time I use the app. This bar does not appear, and there seems to be no way to get the video to pop up.

Could anybody give me a little bit of help? as it has always worked flawlessly and I'm a bit lost as to what's going wrong.
