Playing a video on Screen 2 after stopping the video

Postby rickrecht » 30 Jun 2015 21:19

If I have a video playing on the second screen already and I am using VLC on the first screen to control the second screen and press the stop button, then I press play again it plays the video on screen number one. And I have to redrag it back over to screen 2. Is there a way to stop this form happening? So if I have a video on screen two and I am controlling it from Screen 1, if I press stop, and then try to play it again, the video will continue to start back up on screen two?

Thanks!

Make sure to have your Preferences setup correctly

Image

(1) Open Preferences via the main VLC menu (CMD+,)
(2) Deselect Window Decorations in order to get an independent video window which is separate from your playlist
(3) Select your Full Screen Video Device via the drop down menu

Now go ahead and play your video. Make sure to play the video in fullscreen mode (CMD+F). When changing into full screen mode the video should automatically go full screen on the screen you selected in the preferences dialog. By decoupling your playlist from the video playback you can now control volume, time, and playing stopping all through another screen.
