Saving Network Streams as .MP4?

I've been messing around with settings for a while now with no luck, so I'm wondering if it is possible to save (record) network streams as .MP4 instead of .ts. I would be fine with .ts but the livestreams are usually very large (8+GBs) and they are to be uploaded to YouTube. YouTube processes the video MUCH faster if it is in a MP4 container which is why I am asking, as converting would take hours too.
