With some trepidation, I would like help getting subtitles working but don't want to suffer the same fate as poor old " Schein_Toter" who was well and truly slapped down!
I'm not the sharpest tool in the box, so apologies if this has been sorted already.
I have Googled, read your own FAQ's and searched the forum.
The only advice found must concern builds other than this one for IOS since the "Settings" changes you advise are not available in the IOS version.
I have tried all the listed Universal, Western and Eastern European "Text Encodings" but none will deliver the subs.
The specific files I'm wanting to view are "get_iPlayer" files which show as an MP4 file with an associated ".SRT" file.
Is there some way to persuade VLC Player to display the subtitles?
I need them since I am of an age where my ears now also need glasses!
I have also contacted HooToo who responded with alternative players: "OPlayer", "GoodPlayer", and "AcePlayer", none of which I've heard of and I would rather stick with VLC which I trust, and have used for many years under both Linux and Windows to my complete satisfation, particularly since you have taken the trouble to build a version that satisfies those "nice" people at Cupertino!
