VLC playing videos randomly upon multiple selections

Postby jagman55 » 15 May 2015 00:08

Sometime I need to check the quality of many videos so I do the multiple selection using window Explorer and hold down the CNTL key and select 5,8,10, etc and then hit play.
When I select them, I do so in size or alphabetical order.
But when VLC plays them, it does randomly.
Example today, I chose 18 from top to bottom and alphabetically. VLC picked number 16 to play first, then 12...... It has always done this but today, I decided to try to find out why.

Anyone know?

This has been discussed several times already. The Windows Explorer does not preserve the order of selection when it passes the list of files to VLC.
