vlc starts without GUI

Hello,

This is with vlc 2.0.8, copiled from the FreeBSD ports collection.

One of my colleagues is testing a FreeBSD in her PC, I have compiled for
her, a CURRENT r255948 (around Oct 13, 2013) and with all the
necessary ports, esp. KDE4, vlc, ... from this time.

One problem is that the vlc is starting, but has only the console command
line interface, no GUI comes up. I have attached below the verbose log of the
start but do not understand what the vlc is missing. I suspect that it
has to do with this line:
