Full screen VLC 2.2.1

Postby Aylone » 19 Apr 2015 20:39

VLC automatically installed the newest version today, of course, i agreed to install it since i trust it.
But since then, i can't make vlc in full screen the way it was before the update. Now it go fullscreen the way it goes on windows, and just take the whole place on the desktop. Before the update it went fullscreen on a different "board" (don't know how to say it properly).

Is there any way to have the precedent version? Or at least, have a proper fullscreen for mac (i run on maverick).

In VLC 2.2, default changed to our own fullscreen mode, because it is more fluent and is compatible with more VLC features. I would still call that a proper fullscreen, even if its not shown on a separate space. :-)

You can easily switch back to the native fullscreen mode by enabling it again in the preferences.

It was handy to have vlc on a separate space for switching between programs. Also having its own space was nice so its window was not taking up space desktop if you didn't want it to. Also this change makes vlc's fullscreen less fluent with how ever other program goes to fullscreen and creates a space.

Btw, tested this few months back, and strangely got jerky v-sync (noticeable during horizontal panning) with OS X native fullscreen, while VLC's legacy fullsceen was smooth.
