codec information in vlc

Hello,

Is codec infomration in tools->codec information, will show the codec of the file bitstream , or does it show the codec that VLC uses for the playing.
I now see in codec information: Planar YUV 4:2:0 , though tI was told that his sample file is in YVU 4:2:0 format (uv swapped).
I also don't see the frame rate when opening this sample file (mpeg-ts) file.

That file is in MPEG-4 Part 10 / AVC, a.k.a. H.264, and that's what VLC says in the codec infos.
