Hi, I am new and I could use a hand around the fourms.

Hello, everyone I have been wandering around the fourms and I am amazed by the sheer amount of potential with this program. Could someone please list the potentials and uses of this software? Any links or reccomendations would be appreciated. I also have a error with running my blu-ray disks on my windows 7 32bit system. I would like a general guide of how to set up LAN and just a general hint as to where I should go.

tldr; Help, I am lost and I need a map or somthing.

For a list of capabilities, go to videolan.org/vlc/features.html . While not at the most absolutely recent update (which someone has volunteered to fix), this is a superb intro to all the features that VLC has to offer, and even mentions a couple of OS-specific quirks for certain features and formats. This should tell you all you need to know for what VLC can and cannot do.

For some help on your Bluray issue (Windows-specific), here is a helpful thread: https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=106570 . This contains significant discussion about the issue and things people have tried when something went wrong with Bluray playback.
