VLC and Livestreamer

Postby Kaliac » 06 Mar 2015 10:37

Heya.

When using VLC with Livestreamer (http://docs.livestreamer.io/) it seems to have problems with source quality streams. Volume control breaks, often being extremely delayed or just doesnt register when trying to increase/decrease volume and fullscreen behaves the same way, most of the time not registering that you've tried to go fullscreen (or back to normal) or being extremely delayed in switching

Not all source streams have this problem as not everyone streams at the same quality so it seems to have problems when trying to play streams above a certain quality, twitch doesnt give resolution info on source streams so I don't actually know at which point it breaks.

Here are a few streams that I know it breaks on, but you could likely try it on any big channels stream and have the same issue.

The latest stable build doesn't have this problem.

Not really, is this not the place for bug reports?

https://trac.videolan.org
Just register an account and file a report, also, any logs or screenshots you could provide would help.
I'm not a dev or a mod, I just like to help them in any way I can.
If we can simulate real life so accurately, then isn't our reality maybe just one great big simulation as well?
