VLC reboots machine for Directshow

Postby diptendu » 19 Sep 2005 16:39

Hello,

VLC reboots the PC when a webcam is selected after "Refresh" from the Directshow. This has happened with Webcams from 3 different manufacturers (including Logitech).

This problem is avoided if the Size field is entered as 640*480. But in this case MPEG4 encoding support is not available.

I have been successful in MPEG4 streaming with an old Logitech Webcam that has a VFW driver.

What is the level of support for Directshow in VLC?

The same problem

I have WIndows XP and I use a PC with VLC and the Wizard and the wizard to stream "as a server" and a PDA or a PC with VLC "as client".

I had no problems to stream with a MPEG file, but I wasn´t able to do it wit others video formats that I do reproduce with VLC in the server PC. When I use my webcam It´s worst because th "server" PC is rebooted. My cam edits in a MJPG format. Can somebody help me??

Thanks a lot
