Handling folders as seen on the beloved desktop versions

Postby raingloom » 10 Jan 2015 03:09

I bought a Nexus 7 a few days ago and I was absolutely happy to find my favorite media player pre-installed on it. So I copied my sub-folder structured music collection on to the internal memory to play all of them on random on the bus. But guess what? There is no way to do that!
Oh yes, there is the option to select which folders need scanning, but I have a ton of them. There should be a way to either select every sub-folder of the selected top folder, a search depth option or as on desktop: an "add directory" feature on the playlist creation.

ps.: Dear devs, I love this gem of a media player because it is so versatile, but the Android port is nowhere near that. (If it's not too complicated an issue, I would jump into it myself, but I'm rather noobish in C/C++)

Please update to the latest version. The newest versions should recursively scan all directories. E.g. if you have /sdcard/Music/a and /sdcard/Music/b, checking off /sdcard/Music will scan both of those (and any subdirectories too).

I thought it was already up-to date, but I'll check again once I pulled that mountain of updates through. (Had to do a root+unlock for reasons not related.)
